Handmade Holiday Goodies

3 Mar

Every year, I want to make all the holiday gifts we give.  Every year, I make some.  That’s better than nothing, right?!

This year among the gifts we gave, my two favorites were felt food for my nephews’ kitchen sets and secret hollow books stuffed with goodies for the older kids.

I think I might need to make one of the books for me!  As tedious and labor intensive as it is to cut out each and every page, I think I’ll wait ’til I have nothing else to do.  Including extra cleaning, dog hair cuts to give, maybe even dictionary copywork.  Kidding.  It’s not that bad, but if you leave such little time as I did, it gets stressful.  Start out earlier and make these….they are worth it in the end!

I don’t have a picture of the complete set of felt food, but we (Makenzi and I) ended up making breakfast (pancakes, sausage, eggs, and poptarts) and lunch (sandwich with choices: lunchmeat or pb&j with chips).

A book in progress.  I made five of them.
